About the role:
The successful candidate would work within the LUU Student Events and Programmes team to support the development and operational delivery of a vibrant and diverse entertainment programme. Working across our venues and commercial areas, you will ensure a high-quality experience that enhances student engagement and supports commercial objectives. This role combines hands-on operational responsibilities including sourcing, booking, and supporting entertainers and vendors. You will ensure that health and safety standards are met. The postholder will monitor market trends, evaluate programme effectiveness, and make informed recommendations to drive future programming and improve commercial performance.
Some of the main responsibilities would include:
- To recommend and implement an agreed programme of commercial events that support the team's goals and objectives.
- To complete all administrative duties that are required of the role. This is a heavily administrative role requiring meticulous attention to detail.
- Oversee the day-to-day expenditure against agreed budgets for weekly, one off events and programmes of events.
- To be responsible for ensuring the full timeline of an event or activity is appropriately managed. From sourcing and booking through to post event feedback and actions.
- To maximise profitability of events and activities by driving ticket sales and managing and controlling costs, resources, and margin effectively.
- To coordinate the planning and delivery of large commercial events and events programmes, such as Welcome, Leeds Ball and other ad-hoc commercial events in venues and bars. (Non-Exhaustive list).
- To work operationally at the majority of Fruity events, Welcome events and ad-hoc commercial events. This will include regular evening and weekend work.
