Help shape the future of the student experience at Leeds.

The Role

Leeds University Union is recruiting a Communications Lead to shape and deliver its digital communications at a pivotal moment, as the organisation develops its new 2026 to 2030 strategy.

This role is responsible for leading LUU’s digital content and channels, including social media, website, email, internal communications and digital screens. You will set the direction for how LUU tells its story, ensuring students clearly understand the services, opportunities and community available to them, and feel a strong sense of belonging.

Working closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager and Head of Communications and Influence, you will plan and deliver high impact communications for major campaigns, oversee content quality and accessibility, and use insight and performance data to continuously improve reach and engagement. You will also play a role in media engagement and reputation management.

The Communications Lead manages and develops a small team, providing leadership, structure and creative frameworks to support effective content creation and delivery. Strong stakeholder management is central to the role, including close collaboration with University of Leeds colleagues, internal teams, elected student leaders and external partners.

This is a senior, hands on role for an experienced communications professional who combines strategic thinking with strong execution, a clear understanding of digital best practice, and a genuine interest in student life and inclusivity.
