We employ over 300 staff, and it is a fun place to work with a focus on health and wellbeing, and your personal learning and development. We are growing our Marketing and Communications department, creating an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team that‘s at the forefront of using data and insight to make sure every student loves their time at Leeds.

As part of this new direction, we’re placing a strong emphasis on being led by our student voice. We believe that by listening carefully to what our students want and need, we can create marketing campaigns and communication strategies that truly resonate with them. We’re also committed to innovation, always looking for new and better ways to reach our audiences. We are looking for a highly organised, collaborative and strategic thinker to help us transform the way we plan and deliver campaigns.

About the role

As our Marketing Workflow Lead, you’ll play a central role in shaping how the team functions - bringing structure to creativity by overseeing workflow across our busy department, ensuring the timely and efficient delivery of both business-as-usual tasks and major marketing projects.

You will be at the heart of campaign coordination, from managing schedules in Asana to influencing stakeholders, assigning resources, and developing your team to deliver stand-out marketing and communications that resonate with every student. If you love bringing order to creative chaos, and enjoy improving systems, streamlining processes and empowering others to do their best work, you will thrive in this role.

About you

You’re an exceptional planner and coordinator who’s passionate about making marketing work more efficient and effective. You’ll have experience managing complex projects, prioritising workflows, and leading teams across different disciplines and channels.

You’re as comfortable with process and strategy as you are with people. You enjoy collaborating with creatives and stakeholders, have a great eye for scheduling and detail, and are proactive in finding solutions and spotting opportunities to improve.

You’ll need:

  • Significant experience in marketing project management, ideally in a creative, agency or multi-channel setting
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with experience of using project management tools such as Asana
  • The ability to coach, support and lead others—both directly and across teams
  • Experience line managing a small team and coordinating freelancers or contributors
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and build trusted working relationships
  • A proactive mindset, constantly looking to improve processes and outcomes
  • Experience producing workflow and/or communication plans for campaigns
  • A collaborative, can-do attitude with a real passion for marketing that makes a difference

Why Join LUU?

Aside from working in one of the most vibrant, student-focused organisations in the UK, you’ll also enjoy:

  • A generous holiday allowance of 26 days per year, 14.5 Bank Holidays and extra Union closure days…plus the option to buy extra holiday.
  • NUS TOTUM discount card, onsite staff discounts and discounted travel card.
  • Extensive learning and development opportunities - we believe that to be the best organisation we can be, all our people should be able to learn new skills and develop themselves whilst they work for us.

The people and culture at LUU are often cited as the top reason why people enjoy working here. You will be part of an organisation that not only values but champions inclusion and diversity.
