Part time : 10 hours per week, Tuesday and Thursday @ 5hrs per shift. Flexible based on student’s schedule.
Salary: £12.71 per hour

About the role:
Working with the Digital Content Coordinator and wider Marketing and Communications Team, you will help write, create and edit student-focused content across LUU’s website, email and YouTube channels.
You will support a varied mix of content, including website copy, student newsletters, news stories, blogs, event listings, advertising, interviews and scripts. You will also contribute ideas in content planning meetings and support photography, video and campaign activity where required.
You will work with colleagues, student groups, University contacts and external stakeholders to gather information and make sure content is accurate, engaging, on brand and delivered to agreed deadlines.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Creating and editing content for the LUU website, email communications and YouTube channel.
- Writing student-focused website copy, newsletters, news stories, blogs, event listings, advertising copy, interviews and scripts.
- Contributing creative ideas to content planning meetings and wider marketing and communications activity.
- Supporting short-form video, photography and other content that highlights student life, experiences and opportunities at LUU.
- Helping schedule and complete allocated project tasks to agreed timelines, while keeping colleagues informed of progress.
- Supporting campaign activations and events such as Leeds Varsity, Leeds Ball and open days when required.
About you
You are a confident and adaptable writer with a strong eye for detail and an interest in digital content. You enjoy turning information and ideas into clear, engaging communications for different audiences and channels.
You will be creative, reliable and organised, with the ability to balance more than one task and meet deadlines. You will enjoy working collaboratively, contributing ideas and developing new skills in a supportive team.
You’ll need:
- To be studying at degree level at the University of Leeds and looking to gain experience through part-time work alongside your studies.
- To be studying a relevant subject related to communications, journalism, media, English or digital content creation.
- Experience creating written, visual or video content through personal, academic, voluntary or paid projects.
- Experience supporting marketing, communications, media or promotional activity.
- Strong written communication skills, with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and write in an agreed tone of voice.
- Good editing and proofreading skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Good organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to work across multiple projects.
Experience contributing to websites, blogs, newsletters or social media, and familiarity with WordPress, Mailchimp, Canva, Asana or CapCut, would be advantageous.
