Full time - 36.5 hours per week- The position is predominantly office based, working mostly office hours (8:45-17:00, Monday to Friday), but will allow a percentage of Hybrid working. This role also requires applicants to work some weekends and evenings.

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual to work with the University Residence Life Team, to plan and deliver a curated programme of diverse and inclusive events for Halls of Residence students as specified by Residence Life, within LUU. The events will reflect our key event drivers - social, experiential and learning.

Some of the main responsibilities would include:

  • Working in partnership with Residence LIfe, to continually review and update event and engagement programmes and to create a curated offer of event opportunities for Residence Life to commission.
  • Support in delivering a varied programme of events for the academic year, including key points in the calendar such as Freshers Week, Halloween, Christmas and other culturally significant festivals.
  • To work effectively with people, developing productive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and students living in University Residences.
  • Liaising with the Residence Life team, acting as key contact for LUU to ensure excellent communication between both organisations.
  • To control spending in line with the budget to maximise efficiency including the control of wages where these are variable.
  • To ensure that personal / industry knowledge and skills are updated to ensure effectiveness in meeting work objectives.
  • To ensure the events delivered for Residence Life are accessible for all, and meet the needs of our diverse membership.
  • Pro-active promotion of Residence Life events, utilising LUU’s social channels and recommended strategy for Res Life’s social channels.
  • Provide support for Residence Life Social Committee members and individual halls organising events and making external bookings as required by Residence Life.
  • To support Residence Life in delivering a programme of events for each residence for the new intake of students, and where requested work with Wardens and, in some instances, the Residence Committee.

You will be an excellent communicator, team player as well as having creative ideas to design a varied events programme.
