About the role:
LSR has a mix of core shows that students can apply to participate in, across our Breakfast, Hometime, Sports, News, Music, Weekend and Daytime teams. Students can also learn to DJ and apply for their own radio show or podcast. Whether it is presenting, producing, tech or podcasting that someone is interested in, there is a place for everyone in LSR. We know that not all students like the same thing, and we are proud to be the only radio station in Leeds with an eclectic schedule to cover everybody's tastes. Student members don't need any experience, just a lot of enthusiasm.
What we’re looking for:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone interested in media, communications and student engagement. As the Station Manager, you will empower the 18-person student committee to deliver exceptional experiences for its 300+ members. You will seek opportunities that enable members to be enterprising, learn new skills, and, most importantly, have fun.
The station manager will ensure the day-to-day running of the station. These duties include leading on scheduling to create student opportunities, and producing diverse and impactful content. You will also be supporting the station’s technical requirements to ensure consistent broadcasting, including the training of new members in our two studios. Furthermore, the ideal candidate will embody LSR’s student radio status by collaborating with other clubs and societies, the Student Executive, alumni networks and the Student Radio Association.
We’re also looking for a candidate ready to contribute towards our wider club and society community. At LUU, we have a 350+ strong community of clubs and societies. As Station Manager, you will use your communication and partnership-building skills to create new collaborations that transform our community.
What you get in return
The benefits you can enjoy include holiday pay, extensive opportunities for learning and further development, NUS TOTUM Card, onsite venue staff discounts, discounted travel card, and discounted gym membership.
Sounds good?
