Leeds University Union (LUU) runs two busy exciting independent retail outlets, Gear & Union shop. Gear is our branded clothing & merchandise store and Union shop is our go to store for all stationery needs and gifts. 

We are looking for an Assistant Manager on a 13 month fixed term contract work across both stores to cover a period of maternity leave.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will love working with a diverse and engaged team. You will be a people person who thrives in a busy environment, delivering exceptional customer service and retail standards. You will ideally have some supervisory experience preferably at Assistant Manager level in a customer facing role however, we would also consider someone who is eager to gain this experience and build on the essential criteria within the application pack, as ongoing training will be provided. You will be reliable, flexible and thrive in an environment where no two days are the same as well as be driven to succeed.

A good level of IT literacy is required as our processes are primarily digitised, excellent organisational skills are essential and this role is ideal for a creative individual who can think of new ideas to help drive sales.

If you are committed and highly motivated with an ability to work in a demanding and fast paced, diverse organisation, then this role could be the one for you.
